Loire-Atlantique Camping FAQ

What makes Loire-Atlantique different from Vendée?

Loire-Atlantique has a more upscale, elegant feel (especially La Baule). It's closer to Nantes (great for day trips), has the famous Guérande salt marshes, and generally fewer but more refined campsites.

Is Loire-Atlantique good for families?

Yes, though it's perhaps slightly less 'full-on family' than Vendée. La Baule beach is excellent for children, Pornic has great family facilities, and you're close to Nantes attractions like Les Machines de l'Île.

How long from Nantes Airport to La Baule?

About 50 minutes by private transfer. This is the shortest transfer time of our three regions, making Loire-Atlantique the easiest to reach.

What's special about Guérande salt?

Guérande is famous for its artisanal sea salt, harvested by hand using 1,500-year-old methods. You can tour the salt marshes, watch the salt workers (paludiers), and buy authentic fleur de sel.
